About

Lykin believes that each story demands a specific medium, and that the more artistic tools a storyteller has in their kit, the better. Their stories have ranged from comics and writing, to animation and music. One of their most recent animated film, Seeing in the Dark, has shown internationally.

Lykin’s love of story extends beyond their personal practice into education. Everyone has a story to tell, and all generations deserve the means to tell their own. During their career, Lucian has taught animation and illustration to children from the ages of five to thirteen. The fresh perspectives students have allow them to inform themselves and teach others to think in new, exciting ways.

Lichen is a partnership between algae and fungus.

The fungus helps the algae to live on land, while the algae helps the fungus eat sunlight.

Lykin has drifted around the world. They are currently rooted in Philadelphia, PA with their partner and cat. When they’re not teaching or drawing, they enjoy playing accordion, cooking, learning languages, reading and spending time in nature.
